Content ID & Copyright Claims
Understanding how Content ID works and what to do if you receive a claim on your licensed N3Bass Music content.
What is Content ID?
Content ID is an automated system used by platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to identify copyrighted material in uploaded videos. When music is registered in Content ID, the system automatically scans uploaded content and may flag videos that use it.
Why Claims Can Happen — Even With a License
Automated Detection
Content ID systems are fully automated. They detect audio fingerprints regardless of whether you have a valid license. A claim does not mean you did anything wrong.
Third-Party Distributors
Music distributed through platforms like DistroKid, TuneCore, or CD Baby may be registered in Content ID by the distribution service. This can trigger claims even on properly licensed content.
No System is Perfect
While we work to minimize false claims, no music creator or label can guarantee that Content ID claims will never occur. What we can guarantee is that we will help you resolve them.
Understanding Claims vs. Strikes
Content ID Claim
- • Automated detection — not a penalty
- • Your video stays online
- • Revenue may be temporarily held
- • Can be resolved with proof of license
- • Does NOT affect your channel standing
Copyright Strike
- • Manual action by copyright holder
- • Video may be removed
- • Affects channel standing
- • 3 strikes = channel termination
- • N3Bass will never issue a strike against licensed users
